The long battled acquisition of Twitter is finally completed, with Elon Musk taking charge a day before the supposed deadline.
Musk said he’d open-source the Twitter code to let the public know how the platform shows its recommendations, reduce or even remove the spam bots completely, and also fire some employees. He has already fired some top executives, including the CEO.
Elon Musk’s Twitter Acquisition
If you’re following the acquisition case between Elon Musk and Twitter since its inception, you’d know how twisted it had been. Well, after all the arguments, accusations, and court proceedings, Musk has finally taken over Twitter for the said $44 billion.
And the first thing he did was to fire the company’s top executives , including the CEO Parag Agarwal and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, Twitter’s top policy official Vijaya Gadde, and its general counsel Sean Edgett.
Musk walked into the Twitter HQ in San Francisco on Thursday and met with the employees. He reportedly brought his Tesla engineers too to assess Twitter’s code. Musk pledged to eradicate the spam bots on Twitter and open-source its algorithm to let the people know how its recommendations work while not making the platform a “free-for-all hellscape.”
