While everyone’s busy talking about Apple’s new iPhones, YouTube TV has expanded its 5.1 audio support to more devices.

The list now includes Apple TV and Fire TV too, alongside the Google TV, Android TV, and Roku devices that YouTube added earlier this year. With this, the YouTube TV content that’s available in 5.1 surround sound will play automatically in that setting, offering the best audio experience to users.

YouTube TV 5.1 Audio Support

To make the content streaming on YouTube TV more exciting and immersive, the platform added support for 5.1 surround audio earlier this year. Though it’s not available for all titles, YouTube TV has made enough content supporting this to entice users.

And in March this year, YouTube TV started testing this support with Google TV, Android TV, and Roku devices and made a full rollout in June. Now, just a day after Apple’s Far Out event, Apple TVs too have been added to the list.

5.1 Audio Update! ???????????? We now support 5.1 audio on Apple TV & Fire TV devices for compatible YouTube TV content (live, DVR, & video on-demand). If you’re a game console user, we’re working on getting this available to you as soon as possible, and will share live updates here. pic.twitter.com/8Pmxrt1WqU — YouTube TV (@YouTubeTV) September 6, 2022
